LAST NIGHT SAW the return of RTÉ’s Big Week On The Farm, which will broadcast live all this week from a farm in Cavan.
Last year’s programme was TV gold (Nathan Carter delivered a lamb) and moments like this one make us very glad it’s back.
Barry John Crowe has been tying sausages since he was 13 years old – and last night he challenged the Guinness World Record for the most sausages made in a minute.
All the sausages have to be four inches long, and any broken or otherwise ‘tainted’ sausages will be discounted.
The record was 60… Barry John got a whopping 78. And it was mesmerising:
“Having examined all of the sausages…” *snigger*
Look at how quickly and elegantly he ties those sossies.
Look how eagerly that Guinness man is watching him. He’s serious about sausage-tying.
Look at the crowd there cheering him on.
We’ve never felt more proud to be Irish. Hup ya boya, Barry John.
